This speech begins by signalizing the pioneering condition of Bolivia in the practice of communication for development, a bit over half a century ago, with three formats. It underlines those of radio stations of mining workers’ unions and radio schools. In addition, in reference to the format of agricultural extension information, it concentrates on reviewing the essence of the professional trajectories of two outstanding precursors: Mario Villarroel, from Chuquisaca, and Jaime Cusicanqui, from La Paz, to whom it pays homage on behalf of the School of Communication of the Catholic University of Bolivia at La Paz.
