The objective of this study was to unveil the thematic cores and discursive positioning of the YouTube community around the Body Positive movement. The study was based on the analysis of comments hosted on YouTube and adopted a quantitative approach through text mining techniques. The results give prominence to the concept of “weight”, around which the discussion of the comments is articulated that derives in the manifestation of two antagonistic perspectives; that of adherence to the slogans of Body Positive and that of the biomedical approach. While Body Positive emphasizes the role of self-love, body acceptance and the search for happiness, its biomedical counterpoint highlights bad habits, health problems and the absence of physical exercise. The conclusion is the need to reconcile the central objectives of Body Positive with health promotion.
