Resumen

La comunicación internacional tradicional ha estado dominada por países desarrollados, tanto en lo económico como en lo cultural. En la década actual, los países en desarrollo han cuestionado este modelo, denunciando la influencia de poderosas agencias y conceptos como “libertad de prensa” y “libre flujo de información”, que consideran instrumentos para la dominación neocolonialista.

Luis Ramiro Beltrán S.

Boliviano. Especialista en comunicación para el desarrollo y periodista. Doctorado por la Universidad del Estado de Michigan, EE.UU. Escribió este ensayo en 1979 cuando era Vicepresidente de la Asociación Internacional para Investigación en Comunicación de Masas (IAMCR) y síndico del Instituto Internacional de la Comunicación.
